Nominations

Here are the books that have been nominated for the 2012 VLAs suggested by readers, writers, and the judging panel.

The Committee has unanimously extended the eligibility to books published between JANUARY 2002 to MAY/JUNE 2012.

For a book to be officially nominated, someone must join the Reading Committee and submit a review.

  • Wonder Struck (REALISM) by Brian Selznick [nominated but didn't finish the review in time]
  • The Penderwicks (REALISM) by Jeanne Birdsall [Jess' post]
  •  Okay for Now (REALISM) by Gary D Schmidt
  • The Destiny Trilogy (SELF-PUBLISHED) by Sarah Holman [LeAnne's post]

    1. I'm sorry, but this book does not meet our criteria. Witchcraft, Paranormal Romance, and Fantasy are not permitted genres for the VLA, regardless of how well the book is written.

  3. I'd like to nominate The Destiny of One and The Destiny of A Few by Sarah Holman. These are fantastic Young Adult books. They qualify as Christian, too. Just love 'em!
